Learning to Drive

The first thing you need to do before you start learning to drive is to apply for a provisional driving licence. To do this you will need to complete form D1 available from most post offices or avilable for download from the dvla website. Alternatively, you can start the application online at www.direct.gov.uk/provisional. You must be a resident of the UK and be able to provide permanent UK addresses for the past 3 years.

You can apply for your provisional licence up to 2 months before your seventeenth birthday but you cannot start your lessons until you have your provisional licence and have reached the age of seventeen.

Starting Lessons

When you have your provisional licence its time to book your lessons. Lessons can be taken in hourly blocks from a minimum of 1 hour with most people taking a 2 hour lesson once a week.

Online Theory Test Training

All our pupils can sign up to the driveiq theory test training for FREE. Driveiq gives all our pupils access to the most comprehensive theory and hazard perception test preparation available.

Handouts

When you are learning to drive with us you will receive occasional handouts to help assist with your learning. You will receive a handout of the Show me/Tell me questions that you may be asked at the start of your test, you will also receive a handout to help you respond to emergency vehicles.
